Very nice! The extra details and just the right amount of weathering make it stand out!

I like what you did with the 5th wheel. That lock mechanism looks great. Is it functional, or just for show? Could you tell me how you made it? I'd like to attempt something like that.
Thanks.

Hi Jim,
The slide locking mechanism is just for show. Locking the king pin in the 5-th wheel is fuctional by the recipe in Car Modeler magazine. There is a link above to the article and pictures showing how it is done. The slide locking system is made out of styrene sheets cut out to shape and a wire that I used as the pins and springs. Wind up a wire around a needle or something, cut off the ends and there you go with the springs. The only reference were a few pictures from truckpaper or some other advertising web sites. I don´t remember exactly. I will share them in my next post. I have done no accurate measurements on my piece, just what my eye considered okay.

Here is the reference pic for my slide locking mechanism. Here is another one that I found after my piece was finished. The truck is probably European but the system looks the same to me. Well... with slight differences here and there. Hope that helps. Jarda

Excellent detailing. The headlight wiring is something I've never seen before. That 5th wheel still impresses me.
